EDUCATION
Throughout his career Donald has been actively involved in a wide variety of education projects as project director, teacher, facilitator or consultant. The projects he has been committed to have given him the opportunity to share and increase his knowledge in varied educational institutions ranging from school and community projects to national and international work. He has created and choreographed in projects such as BBC2 Dance Education programme for schools, the Harlem Dance Theatre education programme and The Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery – Dance project; Interpreting Turner. His education consultancy work has seen him produce dance projects with organisations such as DanceXchange, Birmingham Royal Ballet and Channel 4 ‘Ballet Hoo!’ Harlem Dance Theatre, Leaps & Bounds ‘The Worsene project’, and Leicester Haymarket Theatre ‘Love in the 21st Century’.

“I have many styles and cultures to draw on – from Western classical to contemporary and social dance styles. It is especially rewarding to find ways to help young people to tell their stories – in whatever mix of dance styles they can respond to. Dance has the capacity to empower individuals and groups whatever their level of experience or cultural perspective”
Donald Edwards
